Our Story

Mungeh is a grassroots, non-profit group focused on eco-tourism and responsible outdoor travel. We aim to create meaningful and inclusive experiences through group adventures, environmental education, personal growth, and low-cost, community-driven trips.

We (Mehran and Aida) first launched Mungeh in Iran, drawing on years of experience organizing hiking and nature-based programs. After immigrating to Canada, we brought that same spirit to British Columbia, where Mungeh continues to grow and connect with nature enthusiasts through a shared set of values.

In Canada, Matin has also joined the council and now serves as our Treasurer, supporting the group’s financial management.

All trip costs are transparently shared among participants, with a small additional amount going into Mungeh’s group fund to cover essential equipment and ongoing operational needs.

Our board of directors receives no compensation, and all roles are entirely voluntary. Board members are elected annually by official members during the General Assembly.

At this yearly General Assembly, each committee presents a report on its activities, and members are updated on the organization’s decisions, financial status, and overall direction. It’s also a space where members actively help shape Mungeh’s future through voting and open participation.
