Petgill Lake Trail
One day Hiking
Event Date: September 5, 2026
Tour Info
This time, Mungeh is heading to Petgill Lake in the beautiful Murrin Provincial Park — a moderately challenging forest hike along the Sea to Sky corridor that leads us to the small and scenic Petgill Lake.
The hike begins at the Murrin Provincial Park parking lot. After carefully crossing the Sea to Sky Highway and walking a short distance alongside the road, we’ll reach the Petgill Lake trailhead. The first section of the trail is fairly steep, with the elevation gain beginning almost immediately. As we continue, the trail enters the forest and takes us through rocky sections, forest paths, and several viewpoints with beautiful mountain scenery. Further along, the trail briefly connects to a gravel service road before continuing toward Petgill Lake.
This hike is more challenging than Mungeh’s easier hiking programs and is suitable for participants who are physically prepared for approximately 11 km of hiking and more than 600 metres of elevation gain.
After completing the hike and returning to Murrin Provincial Park, we’ll gather by the lake for lunch and some time to relax. Those who are interested are welcome to bring their own paddleboards and enjoy some paddleboarding on the lake after the hike.
