This time, Mungeh is heading to one of the most beautiful mountain destinations near Squamish for a two-day backcountry adventure at Watersprite Lake, including an overnight stay at the Watersprite Lake Cabin.
Located among the Coast Mountains at an elevation of approximately 1,400 metres, Watersprite Lake is known for its turquoise water, surrounding peaks, and spectacular backcountry scenery. Part of our journey will be completed using 4×4 off-road vehicles. Once we reach the starting point of our hike, we will carry our backpacks and continue along the mountain trail toward Watersprite Lake and the cabin.
We will spend the night at the reserved mountain cabin, enjoy dinner together and the warmth of the wood stove, and begin our return journey the following morning.

Hiking Distance – Day 1: Approximately 10 km

Overnight Location: Watersprite Lake Cabin
Trip Capacity: 12 participants
Please note: Cabin bunks are available only for the first 8 registered participants. Other participants must bring appropriate sleeping equipment. Regardless of bunk availability, every participant is required to bring their own sleeping bag.
All participants must have their physical fitness approved by Mungeh’s technical team. Please contact Mehran at 236-332-0220 before registering.
Watersprite Lake Cabin :
The cabin has an upper sleeping area and a shared main floor for cooking and socializing.
Cabin Cacilities include:
- Wood stove and firewood
- Solar-powered lights
- Two-burner propane stove
- Shared pots, frying pans, plates, cups, and cooking utensils
- Sleeping mats
- Outhouse
- Water collection buckets
- The cabin has no electricity, electrical outlets, or USB charging ports.
There is no treated drinking water at the cabin. Water will need to be collected from the lake or creek and must be filtered, treated, or boiled before drinking.
Required Equipment
Each participant must bring appropriate equipment for backcountry travel and cold-weather conditions, including:
- Backpack suitable for an overnight hiking trip
- Waterproof hiking boots
- Warm, layered clothing
- Waterproof jacket
- Warm hat and gloves
- Headlamp + spare batteries
- Sleeping bag suitable for low temperatures
- Hiking poles
- Water bottle or hydration system
- Personal and hygiene items
- Power bank
- Personal food as required based on the final meal plan
Additional equipment requirements may be announced closer to the trip based on the weather forecast and trail conditions.
All participants’ equipment will be inspected by the technical team at the beginning of the trip. For the safety of both the individual and the group, anyone without the appropriate required equipment will not be able to participate.
Meals :
Meal arrangements will be coordinated once the trip reaches capacity.
Participants will be added to a coordination group where we will organize the menu, divide responsibilities, purchase required items, and coordinate other meal-related details.
Weather Conditions :
Mid-October at Watersprite is a transitional period between fall and winter.Rain, near-freezing or below-freezing nighttime temperatures, icy trail conditions, and even snowfall are possible.
Final route decisions, additional equipment requirements, and other operational details will be determined closer to the trip based on actual weather and mountain conditions.
Cancellation & Refund Policy
Due to the nature of the cabin reservation and the limited capacity, this trip is an exception to Mungeh’s standard cancellation policy.
If a participant cancels their registration at any time, the amount paid is non-refundable.
Please make sure you are committed to attending, physically prepared, and able to bring all required equipment before registering.

Mungeh is a volunteer-based, non-profit (NGO) community group and does not generate any personal income from its programs.
All funds collected are used solely for equipment maintenance, program development, and the ongoing operational costs of the group.
