Join Mungeh and experience one of Canada’s most spectacular natural events up close.If you’ve never witnessed the incredible migration of Pacific salmon, this tour will be one of the most unforgettable outdoor experiences you’ll ever have.
Every year, millions of salmon leave the Pacific Ocean and travel hundreds of kilometers back to the exact river where they were born. After several years at sea, they return to complete the final stage of their life cycle by spawning. This remarkable journey is considered one of the greatest natural phenomena on Earth.
On this trip, we’ll visit Tsútswecw Provincial Park, home to the world-famous Adams River, one of North America’s most important salmon spawning rivers. The park is internationally recognized for the return of millions of Sockeye Salmon, and every four years, during the Dominant Run, the number of returning fish reaches its peak.
2026 is one of those extraordinary years.
Unlike many rivers around Vancouver, where you may only see a few hundred salmon, Adams River can hold millions of salmon during the peak of the run. In some sections of the river, the shallow water becomes almost completely covered by fish. Well-maintained walking trails and viewing platforms allow visitors to observe and photograph this breathtaking event from just a few meters away.
This is much more than a simple wildlife viewing trip. It’s an opportunity to witness one of Canada’s most iconic natural events, enjoy the stunning autumn colors of the Shuswap region, stay in a cozy lakeside villa, and create memories that won’t be possible again for another four years.

This tour is designed with flexible participation options, allowing you to choose the schedule that best fits your availability.

- One-night stay (Saturday to Sunday)
Option 2
- Two-night stay (Friday to Sunday)

Accommodation & Itinerary
For this event, we have rented a spacious and fully equipped villa near Shuswap Lake, allowing everyone to enjoy not only this extraordinary natural event but also an unforgettable weekend with the Mungeh community. The villa is located just 5 minutes from Shuswap Lake. Weather permitting, participants will have the opportunity to enjoy the lake, and those interested can go stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) or canoeing.
The villa features 8 bedrooms, 10 beds, and the tour capacity is limited to 16 participants.
Participants may choose one of the following options:
Two-Night Stay (Friday to Sunday)
Participants choosing this option will depart for the villa on Friday afternoon.
After settling in, we’ll enjoy dinner together, play group games, relax, and spend the evening together.
On Saturday morning, after breakfast, we’ll head to Adams River to experience the spectacular Dominant Salmon Run.
After returning to the villa, Saturday evening will once again be dedicated to dinner, socializing, and group activities.
On Sunday, participants are welcome to choose whichever activity they prefer:
- Join the group for another visit to Adams River to experience the salmon run again under different lighting and conditions.
- Relax at the villa, enjoy the peaceful surroundings, swim in Shuswap Lake, go paddleboarding or canoeing, or explore one of the easy hiking trails nearby.
The second visit to the salmon run is completely optional, allowing everyone to enjoy the day in the way they prefer.
One-Night Stay (Saturday to Sunday)
Participants choosing this option may check into the villa starting at 4:00 PM on Saturday.
Saturday evening will include dinner, social time, and group games.
On Sunday morning, everyone will join the group for a visit to Adams River to witness the incredible salmon migration.
Check-out time for one-night participants is 4:00 PM on Sunday.
Please Note: Participants choosing the one-night option will not participate in Saturday morning’s salmon viewing. Their salmon experience will take place on Sunday morning.
Meals :
Meal coordination will take place once the tour reaches capacity.As with all Mungeh events, participants will be added to a coordination group where they can organize the menu, divide cooking responsibilities, arrange grocery shopping, and coordinate all meal-related details together.
