Capilano River Regional Park Hiking Program

If you feel like getting away from the city for a few hours, walking through beautiful forest trails, listening to the sound of the river, and enjoying the fresh mountain air, this could be one of the best weekend plans for you
This time, we’ll explore one of the most beautiful hiking areas around Vancouver — a scenic route through Capilano Canyon that combines forest trails, riverside paths, gravel sections, stairs, and stunning viewpoints of the surrounding nature

Mungeh is a volunteer-based NGO with no personal income from these programs.
All collected funds go toward maintaining equipment, improving programs, and covering the group’s operational expenses.

No ticket or entrance fee is required for this program, and the hiking trail is completely free.

Trail Information:
Distance: Approximately 9 km
Elevation Gain: Approximately 250 m
Estimated Duration: Around 3–4 hours including breaks
Program Description:
We will gather at 9:00 AM at the meeting point shared on this page. After a short introduction and meeting everyone, we’ll begin the hike together ☀️
This route is considered one of the most popular hiking areas in the region and offers a great variety of scenery:
Beautiful forest trails
Smooth gravel and dirt paths
Long stair sections
Amazing canyon and river viewpoints
At the beginning of the trail, there is also a beautiful lookout point overlooking Cleveland Dam, Capilano Lake, and the surrounding mountain ranges
We will stop along the trail for breakfast, and as always, we’ll try to keep the atmosphere friendly, relaxed, and enjoyable
Important:
Parking can become very busy on sunny weekends, so please allow extra time for parking.
Required Equipment:
• Proper hiking shoes
• Small day backpack
• At least 1 liter of water
• Breakfast
• Fruits and snacks
• Sunscreen
• Sun hat
• Sunglasses
Transportation:
We will try to organize carpooling to reduce the number of vehicles entering the area and make the trip more fun and friendly together.
